EXPERIENTIAL

Delta @ CES: The New Feel of Flight

In an environment known for cold IQ,
we brought the future to life with EQ.

Delta, the FIRST airline to ever debut at CES, challenged Digitas to strengthen its perception as an innovation company and unveil its vision for the future of travel.

Attendees were introduced to this vision through a fully immersive experience that set flight the moment they landed in Las Vegas. One where travel would be calm, connected, and personal.

At the keynote, CEO Ed Bastian gave a stirring look at the future of Delta travel against a sunset-to-sunrise backdrop of clouds.

On the floor, a warm 5,400 sqft haven surrounded attendees with cloud-breaking innovation enveloped in serene skies, tactile materials, and sublime forms. The experience was designed to make attendees FEEL this future and was amplified by the respite it gave from the sterile, frenetic activity of CES.

CONCEPT

Under our Wing

Intelligence and empathy, EQ & IQ, are reflected in two interlocking structural elements.
A sweeping curve, pulsating with life and warmth, represents the human half of the Delta experience. The opposite, linear plane of force, represents the science and technology which keeps us in the air, seamlessly aloft.

This duality of forces working together in harmony empowers Delta to better understand its customers, their individual needs and ultimately, keep them ‘under our wing’

VISUAL ID

Calming Skies

Travel can be hectic, but there are still moments of calm to be found. In the ethereal skies from early morning to late at night, or in small moments of reflection and excitement of both passengers and employees making it happen. The visual ID captures these moments, immersing visitors in a visceral, atmospheric calm and reflects Delta's commitment to providing a stress-free travel experience beyond flight.

Sarcos Exoskeleton

To increase workplace safety and efficiency, Delta is working with Sarcos to develop a free-standing robotic exoskeleton that can help baggage handlers lift heavy objects.

A fully functional exoskeleton was showcased and attendees could test its strength through a robotic arm.

FLY DELTA CONCIERGE APP

The interactive experience showcased the evolution of the Fly Delta app beyond its ability to only book and change flights to a concierge with automated and intelligence services, such as automatic rescheduling of rideshares due to flight delays and door-to-door luggage delivery.

The experience was flanked with a presentation courtyard and a simulation game, where you play with an AI operations intelligence system to reroute planes in a snowstorm

Sloane’s Journey

All the technological advances that Delta wants to achieve in the near future was delivered in a video that depicted a character, Sloane, and her calm, connected, and personal journey from home to hotel and back again.

The video was shown in 2 of the new first class airplane seats that Delta will be introducing.
